International Trade, Development and Innovation Regulation

The student learns how trade regulations (WTO and EU) and bilateral trade agreements influence economic development and innovation. This course offers a comprehensive view of the central concepts of Intellectual property rights regulation and their interplay with international trade instruments such as WTO-TRIPS, EU regional trade agreements or the free movement of goods in the EU. The student can focus on cross-cutting issues such as technical barriers to trade, technology transfer, global food chains, certification schemes, access to internet resources.
